    L322 Bullbar development! Finally

Good news L322 owners, the possibility of a bull bar (And other bar work eg rear) is now very very close.
I have been busy contacting the bull bar manufactures around Australia and with much disappointment have been told a flat out no from all the majors...however, I have now been in contact with a smaller manufacturer who, after the explore aust expo has realized the demand for the L322, is willing to do some research and development to make a fully ADR and airbag compatible bull bar with winch mount!! (parking sensors and all)

After seeing some of the products they had available at the show myself I have to admit these are one of the best looking bull bars out at the moment, the finish quality is just sublime.

This is a sample of what I am expecting from them (For a jeep)
    Patrol

All we need is 10 votes of interest (Deposits) to finally have some front end protection!
Estimation of price is from $1500 to $2200 depending on complications of course, and that's not bad!

Please PM me or reply here so we can get some numbers together and finally get some after market products for these fantastic cars.

There appears to be a fixed $110 shipping cost for those around the country. (Will have to confirm)

I will also be putting info on ever L322 i see parked around Melbourne haha

Interesting. I've seen bull bars on L322s here in Sydney. I have pix somewhere here. I'll look them up and post them.

Most seem to be an adapted Disco or sport one, unfortunately not airbag compliant as far as I can tell, unless they had impact tests on the bar mounting systems and signed off my an engineer

Can you ask them if they think they can incorporate the surround (front two) cameras used on MY12 Vogue?. You cant just disconnet two cameras from the system (whole system then fails) - so would want these retained. Will they colour code?
    cheers

    Good work!

    unfortunately with that variation I can't commit - 1500, good chance. 2200, I wouldn't.

Can't see why not with the cameras providing the loom is long enough. Colour coding is a simple powder coat, if they "can't", drop it off yourself, the local powder coaters have over 600 colours. I agree it would have to be coloured.

I suppose this then raises the options/variations costs, the 2012 would be a completely different bar from the 2003 L322. And the 06-09 different again.

So what is the first unit going to fit, and what are we ordering?

I am presuming (will confirm if there is enough replies) thats colour matching can be done (As seen on the patrol sample), and that any minor variations can be made with ease, such as the camera mounts.
As the variations between 03-05, 06-09 and on it will depend on test vehicle around melbourne willing to give there vehicle for a few days to have the initial fitment done on the vehicle (all following will be off the shelf). I will also enquire about a reduced cost for the test subjects as that what Xrox had offered, but they are in WA and most of us are not...

First up we just need a collective number of interested persons so we have the support to get them to do the initial costings and basic designs etc. then we move to putting some money down and getting them made.

Note, the patrol bar show is priced at $1650, where the jeep variates is $1898 for the steel one shown and $2033 for an alloy version.
I suppose the more extras you add, the more the bar will cost in the long run

Yep, that's a modified D3 bar, so not strictly legal as it wasn't designed for he L322. I would like to say I'm in, but funds just won't permit it at the moment. If they go into production, I'd be fairly sure I'd buy one in the new year once I've got some dept payed down.

It does suit it quite well, though.
