What pressures did you run them at, off road Dorko? ie on tracks (eg Birdsville, Plenty Highway etc). I assume low 30's at rear if fully laden? maybe 30 at front?

How's the 285/50/20s Zeons going?
Im looking at moving to 20" rims as some tyres in this size seem to have better side wall strength than tyres for a 19" wheel.
No issues yet - slightly and I mean slightly -noisier and seem to be wearing well; no issues on sand at 18psi at Straddie; no issues in mud or tracks we have done;
Big test coming up in June school holidays though - 5000 km trip with wife and kids from BNE to Alice / Uluru / East and West MacDonnell's etc and home again via Plenty and Donohue Highways. Oh and towing a 21 foot Bushtracker caravan. That should decide whether both the car and tyres are are up to it .....!:p
Aim is to have Van laden (expect 3300kg) and nothing in the RR other than kids of course. This I hope will keep as much weight as possible off rear tyres; even then I guess we might exceed LR recommended tow ball weight. We will travel with a fridge box/slide but just to use for day trips without the van; the fridge can stay in the van on 12v, whilst towing (fits under dining settee rather nicely).
I will keep everyone updated re tyres .........and CVD shocks !!!!!!

I looked at these but the reviews put me off lots of stories of cracking sidewalls & catastrophic failures (blowouts) one guy was on his 3 rd set under warranty. I ended up getting the Pirelli ATR's but got a puncture in the first hundred ks just unlucky was a 60mm self tapping roof screw. No off road yet but noticeably more comfy than the lower profile 50 's previously fitted. Speedo now reading correctly with 55's as well. :)

Yep 19's on mine . I read all the reviews for 255 55 19 tyres. I would have prefered something a bit more agressive but after having 2 General Grabbers disentegrate on a trip up Skull Springs Road (East Pilbra ) in the work hilux I kept away from them. I admit i was pushing the work car along over rough terrain but they had less than 2000 ks on them on them & it was only a 400 k round trip.Quote:

I've been reluctant to try them in any size after having a pair of a different series steer poorly but am considering the 285/50R20 on a yet to be purchased vehicle. However I'll also have a good look at Nitto Terra Grapplers in the same size.
Worth noting Greg had no punctures with his LTZ 20's on his epic trip in WA (where the CVD shockie failed), and that was towing.
