The RRS is a good vehicle, but a lot smaller in the back if you need to carry stuff. Maybe post a thread in the RRS/D3/D4 forum and get a better idea of the pros and cons of such a vehicle.

If space wasn't an issue I would buy a RRS tdv6 over a FFRR petrol v8 if I was paying for fuel.

I've read the off road clearance is slightly better on a FFRR than a RRS. The D3/4 is better again.

The 4.4 FFRR and tdv6 RRS both have 18" wheels which is better for off road.

My brother considered them both as replacements for his performance-modified RRC but the sportier TDV8 RRS better suited his tastes.

Paying for fuel isn't an issue as I work away and it will only get used 6 months of the year.
space on the other hand is an issue as I have ed two BIG Rottweilers that travel most places I go.

Unless you want your dogs on the back seat, then the L322 is the go. The RRS is quite small in the back compared to the L322 particularly up high as the back is a lot more sloped in the RRS. I would take a look at both and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks guys, I think I will stick with getting the L322. They are big boys and wouldn't want to be crammed into the sport. Thanks for your help 😊

My first LR was a Sport, now an L322 - it's not just the difference in load space, the Sport is pretty cosy up front as well, when you swap between the RRS and FFRR you notice a massive difference, the FFRR feels much airier, the dashboard is a decent distance away and makes the RRS feel a bit cramped.

I agree. From looking at all three over the last 6 mths I think the passenger area goes like this (least - most):
    RRS
    D3/4
    FFRR.

The cargo area goes like this (least - most):
    RRS
    FFRR
    D3/4.

However for many the overall weight, size and interior space of a RRS is perfect. You really need to experience each car.

With a family and associated gear to carry I needed a bigger car. With my budget it was either a D3 or FFRR. The wife liked the shape of the FFRR over a D3. I liked it too, and the motor, and the price.
