    Tdv8 - I'm still pinching myself

After 6 months of looking at D3/4s and L322 td6s I picked up this tdv8 FFRR yesterday and I'm wrapped. The power and ride is amazing.

After putting up numerous cars to the better half for approval, this one got the nod. After it was delivered I took the family for a drive and for the first time I can remember she suggested doing a trip.

    Here it is:

Yep it looks like it's hit the mark.

I took the Perentie for a drive this morning and while you can't compare the two, it rides well considering its a 25 year old vehicle.

How do you reckon it would go on the back track up to Bathurst Bay. I know they are pretty capable but I know which one I would rather be in. But you do have to make some sacrifices with family trips.

Ive only been from Kalpowar Crossing. Barramundi Creek was the most difficult part on that trip. I'd be happy to take the RR that way again. The air suspension at full height is pretty impressive. The electronic wizardry will always be a risk. However, from what I've read these cars are pretty reliable and this one's in good nic despite the number of ks.

I wouldn't take it up the road from Starke to Wakooka without a winch, and I don't think you can fit one to this car.

You can fix just about anything on a Perentie as its generally minor stuff that goes wrong.

I'm pretty sure winches have been fitted to TDV8's but only by modifying the winch tray , the problem is axle weight apparently so there was never any attempt at an official fitment .

    Very nice. Congratulations.

Well out of my price range though.

    Maybe one day I will afford a L322 TD6 - it's a nice engine IMHO.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
