    Hi,

Thought I'd put another piccie of dust. This one after 17klms off road.

Dust sealing is excellent, virtually nothing came in.

    Cheers, Jerry

PowerfulUK have scrapped their 2nd attempt at a rear spoiler that included an attempt at a dust deflector in favour of a design similar to the L405 spoiler. They didn't state if they would still attempt to include a dust deflector capability.

I am not surprised they gave up. The spoiler on my L405 is no better than my previous L322. Gets plenty of dust on rear window and the more complex shape of the body surrounding the rear tailgate makes cleaning a lot harder. No dust inside yet, however only short trips on dirt so far.

I wonder if a vertical spoiler attached to each rear pillar would work? Very 70s. It wouldn't be hard to make them from alloy.

Vertical scoops/deflectors home-made from carbon fibre fitted to the sides of a particular L494 seem to work quite well and don't look obvious either.

I suspect the L405 style is only to make the L322 look more modern, not in an attempt to deflect dust better. I also think they would have to be considering replacing the existing spoiler rather than mounting in place of the top stop-light.

I'm thinking again of getting the 69 GBP spoiler below. I think that the combination of ensuring that its mounted high enough to catch air and by adding a layer underneath the front that it stands a good chance of working. Unqshop's freight cost has come down from 99 to 59 GBP so that helps. If I get one then I'll first try it without modification.

    Hi Graeme,

Did you go a-head with this?
