I'd throw a voltmeter on it and keep an eye on it before replacing the alternator. If it's always at least 14volts, you can rule that out as an issue :)
Is there something special about the alternator. Universal bosch 120ampers aren't that expensive .... you just modify the mount to fit them.

Unfortunately the alternators in the 4.4 are water cooled so there are limited options for replacement. The electrical load in the L322 is similar to the star ship Enterprise and just as expensive for associated parts.Quote:
