No, because I think your suggestion is the most likely... :D. It hasn't happened to mine.... Yet... But the turbo vac line has. Reading through FFRR the inline pump seems to be one of the most common failures... after the transmission.

Yes Bacicat , you have nailed it, it does have a whistle.
I drove to the airport this morning with both windows down, on the level it is fine but any gradient and it's singing like a canary......ha ha......
I'm up in Singapore now, but will be back home on Thursday and work from your suggestions.
Cheers Paul
Interesting - on mine, when the turbo has little or no vacuum it whistles like crazy - it does whistle under normal usage too, but much worse when it has had this issue.
I cant remember on mine as its still sitting in smash repairs waiting to get fixed. Am not a happy camper at present, insurance taking ages to approve it:mad:
Sent from my SM-G900F using AULRO mobile app
I have just been through the same thing. Smash repairer pressure cleaned engine bay and damaged ABS Computer. They are denying that they had anything to do with it despite it working perfectly prior to going in for repair and insurance won't pay mor new module based on the fact that there is no hard evidence pointing to them being responsible! They are stating that as the vehicle is over 10 years old that it is wear and tear....not a happy camper!!!
When ours was hit, I insisted it was taken to a prestige repairer. The other persons insurance company complained bitterly about this and said I needed to get the, 3 quotes - I told them to shove it 'my car, your fault - my way' - which I got. The repair was better than new, and they treated the car well - the place was spotless - and my car was the cheapest in there by miles :D
The insurance company got a bill for over $8K for a new bumper (not second hand), 1 repaired panel and paint.
I should have done the same!
