In short, Yes. I recall a Thread over on disco3 UK forum Chris where someone has done it. I will see if I can find you a link (you might beat me to it!)
cheers
Is it possible to fit a factory E-Diff to a to an 09 TDV8? I would imagine the cabling would be fitted, maybe a new housing and diff and maybe a relay?

The SC had them fitted as standard but a different ratio so your housing with your crown wheel fitted to the e-diff centre and side-plate from a SC can be combined.
My MY12 does not have the power cable from the fuse panel but I suspect that the main harness connector is fitted - have to check one day. A combination harness for the e-diff/EPB/aux heater (if fitted) is needed.

Australs suggest my Diff is worn and suggesting a change. I thought it nay be an oppertune time to slip an E into it before the Madigan Geo centre Simpson desert crossing in July. It could be too much hassle as well?? The TC works well with the winch as backup.

Thanks Chris, I'll have a look now.
$8.5K to obtain new parts from a UK supplier plus the cost of having it fitted then calibrated after CCF changes to enable it. S/H 3.6 e-diffs are very rare even in the UK, with 4.4's even more so.
I did Madigan's in a D2 with the original diffs and lesser TC system without any hassles. However, fitting tyres that have a reasonable chance of surviving the sharp sticks especially if visiting the Simpson's geographic centre (cf the Geographic Centre of Australia).

Thanks Graeme, the old girl will go unlocked then.
Yes, the plan is the geo centre with tyre plug kit and a couple of spares. yet to decide on new or used rubber.
Well-worn rubber is usually more prone to damage than tyres with deep tread. However I put a stake straight into a sidewall (a broken surface root) so no difference there whether new or old. It held air with plugs on the spare carrier but didn't get to test it loaded. Another person split the sidewall on a new BFG AT on the edge of the tread whilst weaving through dead scrub of the Hale River heading for The Pivot from camp 2 but that one needed a tube and then only fitted as a last resort.
I'd like the cross-country trip to the geo centre but wonder if I'll ever get time to do it.
