L322 vs Landcruiser - the grey nomads have it.

Read your post Greg and had huge d?j? vu re van park in Alice Springs in July last year - more 70 series LC than I've ever seen in my life But the real surprise was the number of recent model diesel Jeep GC's towing big on road vans; dozens of them. But doubt they ever left the bitumen.. :p

When I was asked (as I was frequently) why I wasn't in a Sahara I just responded: - air suspension comfort and height adjustment; 8 gears, better economy, more torque and more power ....and did I mention air suspension....and more power and torque....

I've spent a whole....5 minutes in a 200...
I can only describe it as 'adequate'
You should hear my description of the hilux, its considerably less flattering and I might not get invited to polo by the RR crowd if I say it here :p

I was at Agnes Water recently and there were quite a few LC200s. But also a few Jeep Cherokee, Pajeros, Rangers and Everests.

I was the odd one out in a Land Rover.

Nothing wrong with the LC 200 Sahara , I been in several , and if someone wanted to give me 1 I would take it.

I never been in a FFRR so I can't compare , but my D3 ride is as good if not better and I'm happy.

I was camped alongside a family at Katherine a few days back and he took his in for a service the next day, he didn't have as many nice things to say about his LC200 that night when we were having a couple drinks. Think he was a lot lighter in the wallet than he was expecting to be.

I just find Most Toyota owners believe there is nothing else on the market , they have had them before and that's what they will keep having.

Let's face it ,a lot of Toyota drivers are sucked in by Toyota's marketing ,for example... Unbreakable hilux ..what a crock !!...I have seen 3 2014 model hilux at auction ,less than 50000 km ( ex mining ) with massive fractures to the firewall and strut tower /skirt !!.. And another example ..oh what a feeling ??...I think that feeling would be ,dull ,ho hum , bored and unexcited / disinterested ...that would sum up most Toyota products... White goods on wheels with no class or style !!....Glen it must feel good to have the nicest vehicle ( and the only one with any class ) in the park !

Guy here traded his LC200 Sahara on a D4 SDV6..

Never smiled more - he's on this forum...

Far superior towing, far superior fuel economy and far better acceleration, with a better ride and no need for WDH BS...

If you sit in/drive a late model L322 it will ruin your D3 for you.
I thought my D4 was fantastic, comfortable, quiet etc etc, then I went for a ride in my father's MY12 L322 Autobiography. The D4 just felt ordinary afterwards. Then I got to drive the 4.4 TDV8...
that was a while ago and my D4 has dulled the memory of the FFRR but I won't forget how fantastic the ride is in it.
If you say an LC200 is comparable to your D3, it has nothing on FFRR

I was collected in the Queens Range Rover when I purchased my D4 and flew to Melbourne to collect.

Was a very very nice machine..

But certainly didn't ruin the D4 for me...

And I was using until recently a 1982 Hilux diesel on my mate's property that had seen beach duty and neglect til we got it but still started and ran every time. It is a POS but it's a reliable POS. Did what we asked of it. No high expectations. Toyota philosophy.
