Yes that's true, but you can minimise that hit with a car that's say 18 months old, so it's already taken the biggest depreciation curve, then extend the warranty. I've done that twice and never regretted it. I can budget for finance repayments, but it's hard to budget for unforeseen and expensive repairs. I don't mind doing 'small' repair jobs but I don't have the time nor the desire to embark on major mechanical/electrical stuff. I'd rather that be left to the specialists, at LR's expense, while armed with knowledge from this forum so I know the right questions to ask.
