Looks pretty schmick.... maybe you can go into the resto business.
A lot of plastic parts on Rangies have lot to be desired.
Trouble is getting them off without breaking the clips.
The grey paint on the front grill was getting a little thin in places and black was starting to show. Also there were a few shallow stone chips in the paint. So decided to do a respray. I went shopping at SCA and bought a colour matched spray can, plastic primer and clear to refurbish the grill.
The result was pretty good I think.

Ta. YouTube makes it a lot easier. The grill came off in about a minute with the minimum of fuss. I did the mirror cover on my wife's Pug a couple of weeks ago as the clear was peeling. It also turned out OK. But will stick with the paid job, as the hourly rate for a pedantic novice like me would not be good.

There's some good stuff on Youtube on how to do stuff for these vehicles. Then there are some crap ones also shaky vids, doof music blaring with the homies.
Powerfuluk has some good ones.
I was searching on how the hell you ever get the big mother of all battery out, found a powerfuluk vid that explained the bonnet strut unhooking and showed the service lever. Makes it easier when you see it being done than trawling through Rave.
Still haven't seen a vid on windscreen wiper replacement.
i found a link that was put up by BBS guy, it explained about the steering lock jammed, apparently a common problem and by drilling a hole in the lock housing and spraying silicon in to hole freed the jammed solenoid.

I have been trawling on the web familiarising myself with this models quirks.
starting to wonder what I might have got myself in for.
I got my iidtoolBT yesterday, plugged it in and see there are lots and lots of ECUs on these vehicles.
I read somewhere that low battery voltage throws up all sorts of errors. My battery had a reading of 11.8 volts sitting there last night. I never checked it running.
I was also wondering,
If you disconnect the battery, does it then set codes as you have killed current to the ECUs and have to clear them when you reconnect the battery?
These seem to be energy hungry vehicles. I put mine on the charger about every month, especially since it's had an alternator failure.

Hi Pete,
What colour is your car?
I too charge/condition the battery once a month in the hope it does something good.
Cheers, Jerry
Hi Roverlord,
Just as an aside, Ive just checked my battery, it reads 12.8v. Vehicle has been sitting for 24 hours unused.
As RAR110 intimated, this could be because the battery is charged/conditioned every month. When my car first arrived here, it had a new battery but voltage was all over the place for a month or so until it settled down. There is a thread here somewhere about it and the help I was given.
Cheers, Jerry
Gday Jerry, It's called Atacama Sand, basically metallic beige. The grill, door handles, shark fin side vents are all bonatti grey.
I have Drivesafe's dual battery set up which helps I think. I will be fitting a digital volt meter in the side shelf behind the wheel arch, similar to what was done by a D4 owner (Scott) on here. The voltage will be viewable through the side window without opening the car and waking it up.
