Great work Mario. Did you use the u tube tutorial or rave for the step by step dash dismantle.
Would an LED work instead?
Yesterday I started the process of replacing the steering angle sensor. After looking on Google someone posted that you can do this job without taking the whole dash out. It involved being a double jointed contortionist and working upside down under the dash dodging the pedals etc. I gave that method a go and managed to get the sensor out and new one in, I also discovered that you can get painful cramps and muscle you never used start to hurt. I couldn't complete the job yesterday as I had difficulty trying to refit the 2 upper hidden column retaining bolt. I could see the hole just and using now cramped fingers, I could not after repeated trying get the bolts to sit square and thread up. The day was getting late so I left it until today.
This morning I had another go, a bit sore from yesterday, today I set up a camp stretcher at the drivers door, the idea was to set up a horizontal plane to lie on so I was easier on the body , so not to lie in a bend position upside down, it was a it more comfortable by not by much. I persevered a couple of hours then cracked the sads, these hidden bolts were no going in straight, I did not want to strip the thread so decision, take the dash apart.
I should of done this in hindsight from the start, the job would have been over a lot quicker. Some may have success the other way, but my body definitely preferred the dash out way, it's only a bit of time removing clips and torx screws.
Once I had the lower dash fascia off, those hidden bolts where there in plain view and access was easy, took 5 mins to fit and retorque them, So now its just the time to screw the dash back again.

Pulling the top of the dash gave me an opportunity to replace a not so bright dash bulb in the instrument cluster, but that was not to be today . Seems YAW000010 bulb is not avialable, Land Rover Australia only sold a couple over the last couple of years and would have to get them from Land Rover in the UK.,
I'm sure Repco or Bursons would have something ,

Also the industrial design of these vehicles always impresses me and leads me to suspect LR didn't have too much of a say in the L322 design.

I couldn't find anything on You tube except the top dash pad removal. I tried Rave but it wasn't that helpful, so I just looked how it was attached. The part at the glove box and airbag is held on by plastic clips, it took a bit of force to pull away. They really aren't that bad to work on if you take your time,
This was the intial plan to do it this way.

LEDS, , I think they might be too bright from what I heard,
Cheers, mario
Been there done that. And found it quite easy from under the dash. yes there is a bit of stuffing around getting to the top bolt and aligning the shaft on your own but not to bad. just have to take it slow and only start each bolt until they are ALL started before doing any up tight. and don't forget to connect ALL wiring as its a PAIN to have to go back and do this later. Trust me...
Update re the dash globes, Narva distribute them. Tried one auto parts place and they said they could get them in but the employee didn't seem to enthusiastic with his attitude, sort of was very blase about it, could even advise when, so off to Bursens down the road from them. Bursens said they had to order them in for me and said I could have them in a couple of hours. So happier with their service, even though it was only 6 globes, they were more than happy to do it.
