Our 2003 L322 has the original radio and CD system.
I would like to fit a system that has navigation, phone interface, usb slot for music input etc.
Ideally the system would come with lifetime GPS map updates and work with steering wheel buttons.
I recall once coming across a site that sold BMW systems but cannot now find that site.
Of course there may be better options.
Your experiences & help in this regard will be valued.

Re the BMW site, try Bimmernav Online Store

If you don't currently have the Vogue with the telephone and screen, doing the changes you want is a lot of work. Maybe you should look at the GROM Compare GROM Car Audio Integration Kits

Doing the upgrade I think is worth it the effort , I now have GPS in dash as well as in dash reverse camera screen in dash. I'm not one that like things hanging from the windscreen or sitting onto of dash. nothing should sit on top of dashes except rocking Elvis's or nodding dogs. LOL.
Uteman, I have replied to your email.
Cheers, Mario
Not any more, Ron. I have one of these (actually the previous model), installation was relatively painless. I now have a 1tb 2 1/2" hard drive in the glovebox with all my music on it. It runs Oziexplorer for Android for offroad duties, has its own GPS system but can also run Google Maps for navigation that will route you around traffic snarls etc. I had the basic radio, no complaints with the new system. It's actually harder to install if your vehicle has the touchscreen satnav system in it, you have to run a cable to the rear. Mine just plugged straight in, the steering wheel controls work perfectly too.
My other replacement unit died, well the sound did anyway so installed another of those Chinese units.
as with all the Chinese BMW units they have a slightly curved front . This one plugged straight in to factory wiring without the extra canbus box I used on the other unit
I pleaded with manufacturer to provide the code to add my own startup Range Rover logo .

I must wipe that dirty camera lens.

I have been getting a few enquiries lately, just wanted to point out that I do not sell or offer installation on replacement units. You will have to do your own research in finding a unit to suit your needs. Some good info is on fullfatrr.com - View Forum - In Car Electronics (L322)
Cheers, Mario
