Gearbox Fault Code Keeps coming Back
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to chase a gearbox fault code for the last 6 months and wondering if anyone can help...
Its a 2004 TD6 L322 with now 200k's.
Gearbox rebuilt 18 months ago by Rhys at Furious Performace.
6 months ago, gearbox started going into "failsafe prog". Using IIDTOOL, fault code "Pressure Solenoid Line 4 Fault". Reset code and kept reappearing every few days.
Replaced battery in case that was causing it.
Took car back to Rhys, who serviced gearbox , tested and swapped solenoids around and replaced internal wiring harness. Fault still came back and weirdly now can be reset just by turning the car off then on, whereas before needed to be reset by IIDTOOL.
Rhys and Ward from Graeme Cooper both agree gearbox is shifting perfectly, so decided to replace the gearbox ECU with a second hand one. Fault still reappearing.
The fault appears now at the exact time each day. Basically it does it for the first drive of the day, and once reset, doesn't do it again that day. It's fine for the initial acceleration away from my house, and as soon as I get to a slight decline where I take my foot off the gas and let the car coast at 60kph, bing and the msg comes up and limp mode.
Now at a loss as to the next step....and I think I've stumped Rhys as well....
any ideas?
thanks in advance!

Hi
I don't have a answer for you, but you could try RRPhil on the Ffrr Technical Section.
fullfatrr.com - Index
He is probably the best RR auto expert , bar none. Very knowledgeable and very helpful; well worth a e-mail or post on the Forum.

Thanks Laurie,
ive noticed a few of his posts coming up in my google search and he seems to be a guru on them, so will send him a message.
rar110....interesting you say that....when Rhys rebuilt it, he said the pump was just salvageable and just needed a light hone. What makes you say a worn pump would specifically cause this issue?
