I'm not sure which year model knares' L322 is so I can't make definitive suggestions for diagnostic gear.

There is the BlackBox Solutions MSV-2 Hardware - BLACKBOX SOLUTIONS LTD but, for early models, the software might be too expensive for him.

For later models the BlackBox Solututions Nanocome Evolution Welcome - NANOCOM Diagnostics is a good option.

Alternatively, for all models the Gap Diagnostics IID Tool is also worth consideration. Diagnostic tool for Land Rover - Gap Diagnostic

I have a HawkEye, how does that compare with the Gap diagnostic
I have to buy the license for my vehicle which is about au$400
My RR is a 2005 model

Sorry, I've never played with a Hawkeye.

$400 is almost the cost of a IID tool.

Yes, that’s why I was wondering if the hawkeye was superior.
At the moment I can buy the license for the hawkeye for $325au on ebay
but if the gap was better, i would rather buy the gap tool

The BT IID tool has a lot of features. More than I use. I have altered the CCF using mine and used it to monitor voltage EGTs and other temps simultaneously. Importantly to identify and clear fault codes. Which the Hawkeye does.

I have a phone holder on the dash so can use it like an extra set of instruments while driving. BT means no cord from the IIDTOOL to my phone.

IIDTOOL also emails fault code lists so you can keep a record.

Island4x4 have the unlock codes for around $250 / £145 online at the moment. Don't have to pay tax as it's being sent outside the Uk. Last I checked, postage was around $15. But they can probably just email you the unlock code. (I know Bearmach have said they can just email it). Might be worth a try.

Hi, what do you do about the gap tool and catching it with your foot whilst driving?

It is a nuisance. Scott LRD4 on here bought a few extension cords. The OBD plug is smaller than the IID TOOL, and at a right angle, so that helps.
