Ok....Having a tantrum and getting rid of it!

    Well, it's finally beaten me.
    2004 TD6.
ive spent over $20k on it in the last two years.... I'm still left with a Gearbox going into failsafe prog. Today, I was driving it and heard a bang....the fan self destructed and spat plastic all over the place and dropping all its coolant. Now back on a tow truck.
ive had it for 9 years, but I think it's now time for a wrecker since it also needs 3 new tyres (spare is brand new) and is due for rego in 2 weeks time.
does anyone know a wrecker in Sydney who might buy this?

You'll get nothing from a wrecker. Advertise it here first, someone will want it.

Saw it there. It should sell. $1000 is rude, but about average for a wrecker.

But a motza compared to what SimmsMetal will give you for it.
I took a mates Commodore to the recyclers. After all the fees and charges, we got $17.
It didn't even pay for the fuel.

I think the tyres are the least of his problems.

Yep...it's the gearbox that is really deflating me 😡.
My last RR I kept until it had 420000k's so I'm not averse to spending money on maintenance and I actually enjoy researching and having to fix most things when they go wrong. I'Ve just hit my limit with the gearbox. That ding and "trans failsafe prog" message each morning seriously raises my blood pressure!

Yep bmw fitting pos gm 5 speed is the worst thing about a l322
Worst part is they are not even rated for the torque that the td6 makes
