2007 l322 drives in Offroad height on the highway

Hi All, I'm normally in the defender section so this is my first post in the RR section after my newly aquired tdv8 vogue ..

So, it goes up and down no problem but if 'm reading my manual correctly it should be driving around normally in middle position indicated by the single line indicator next to the height switch...

any idea why it keeps going up to Off-road all the time

    thanks in advance

It could be a few things ! Your best bet is to get the codes read. Purchase of a IID tool is almost mandatory for L322 owners; the GAP IID Bluetooth being the favourite.
Had this car been used for offroad touring ? It might have been modified to stop the vehicle dropping to normal height at 80kh ,LLAMS is popular here to stop this , it's a pain on good dirt roads to have this happen. The other thing is disconnected/broken height sensor/s ?

I spent some time measuring and setting and measuring and resetting ... managed to reset the 'normal' height to about 20mm higher than it had been. The drive shafts are almost level, and my camper tows level. The low height is still low, and off road height is still higher, but not sure how much extra.

Do any messages occur at the same time, perhaps along the lines of 'extended mode'? If so then could be a faulty height sensor but as already suggested, having a diagnostic tool such as the iidtool is very useful as the tool can be used to show real-time values, not just fault codes.

A faulty height switch or a short of the raise signal wire to earth will cause the raising. If the raising does not occur over 40 kph then a faulty switch or shorted wire are very likely causes. Has the raise/lower switch been subjected to water, perhaps though an open sun-roof?

Try Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide, for your lens; as their wrecking about a dozen L322's at the moment.
