    Air Suspension Issue

Driving home tonight I noticed the front drivers side low, but it eventually raised. By the time I got home it was definitely lower than it should be at normal height and a hissing air noise very clearly audible from the general vicinity of the wheel well.

Can I assume its the air bag suspension gone or could it be something else? My cars got about 145k kms.

If an airbag do I do both sides at the same time, and where is the best place to get them value and brand wise - Aus or freighted out of the UK?

Might need some vehicle detail. The air springs seem to mostly fail on the L322 at around 10yrs +- about 4 years. I pre-emptily replaced mine at 10 years.
It could be air spring or valve.

Jason, did you replace just the airbag or complete strut?

When I did mine, one was leaking at the bag, the other at the seal between the bag and the strut. One was an original.

Thanks for all the replies... I do suspect the bag has gone, just from the noise...

It won't now get off its bump stops and reports a suspension error.. Its my only car so whereas I was hoping to have some time to plan the replacement / fix over the next few days (possibly getting parts shipped) I've had to take it into the garage this morning, and may have to pay local rates for parts!

WOW thats impressive to fix out there - the positive for me was that it went whilst in suburbia and within driving range of a garage!

Its $2k a side to buy and fit the OEM complete strut replacement, so getting the broken RH side done today, and will get the LH front side done asap in coming months. Hoping to source the part cheaper overseas as that is most of the cost. Any leads on a 'cheap' Delphi strut welcome...

    Try island-4x4.co.uk.

I've found them to be reasonable in price plus freight.
