Would I offer to do this job if some one paid me NO ON YOUR NELLY.

I cheated. Got a more flexible friend to do mine... and the bonus was that he had just done HIS so mine was a walk in the park he told me...😎😅
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊

    Hi There,
One of little tilt motors on my steering column gave up the ghost, I bought a good second-hand column that came complete with SAS ( a new one was worth 50% of the whole cars value), fitted the whole lot and for the first turn of the key everything worked a treat, second turn nothing.............. Removed the column and fitted the electronic lock bit from the old column to the new column, installed again, went for a drive dash lit up like a Xmas tree, at least the electronic steering lock bit worked.

One further diagnosis now found that the SAS was out of calibration so I removed said column again and refitted the old SAS, put everything back, did a calibration and everything seemed fine, 50 klms later the dash lights came on again, went to my mate in Wangara, he had the proper LR diagnostic tool and he found that the SAS was still out of calibration, he readjusted and everything has been fine since. That turning on the ignition and swinging the steering wheel from side to side in the first 30 seconds just didn't work for me. I had no idea that such a simple small piece could cause so much trouble......

    Cheers Marty.

When I fitted my new SAS, I calibrated with IID toolBT . it needs to be " programmed in" so to speak so the vehicle ECU recognises it, turning the steering wheel for one side to another does not let the ECU know there is a new part fitted. Then do the steering turn to turn.

Re replacing the column, there is a tutorial on the net on how to repair it, there is a plastic part that breaks . Just cant find it at the moment
