Three amigos..........OMG Thought I got rid of these with the D2

    Hi There,
So I replaced the steering column a few weeks back, re-calibrated the steering column sensor and the 3 amigos and other stuff disappeared, all good. Decided to take "Chooky" to work for a bit of a run under a moving permit to get the works garage mechanic to have a fresh set of eyes look over the old girl before going over the pits.

Not long after leaving the driveway "the three amigos" appeared, went to work, finished work, on start up "no three amigos" appeared after maybe 200 meters, stayed on al the way home, turned the ignition off and turned it back on again "three Amigos" had cleared. Same on the second day, identical scenario.

Today removed all the wheels, disconnected all the ABS sensors same as I used to do on the old D2, cleaned all the connector plugs, went out for a run same deal, 200 meters down the road amigos on, stop on the side of the road, turn the ignition off and back on again amigos have cleared. Disconnected the electrical connector block in front of the ABS unit, cleaned that with contact cleaner, again went out for a run, same deal.

I haven't got my Faultmate set up for the L322 only my Sport, are there any other things I could try? I have tried diagnosing with the Hawkeye unit without much success.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers Marty

What is the car complaining about? You need the fault codes - the lights are on because the car senses a problem, and as such it will tell you exactly what it is complaining about - all you need to do is ask it.... I know it sounds obvious but....

Just like the 3 amigos with the D2 - you don't need to go around cleaning every plug, just ask it and you will know which one needs the clean/or replacement.

Hi Harlie, thanks for the sound advice, realise that asking is the easy part as long as you have got something that speaks the language. My Faultmate is set up to talk to me RRS not my FFRR hence here in lies the problem. Cleaning the plugs was somewhere to start, get the obvious stuff out of the way first. Checked the fuses as well all good.
Looks like I’ll have to plug it in to my local LR service guy then to see what there is to see.

    Hi There,
Took the Chook to a man with a machine that can speakada language. Found to bee the steering angle sensor out of calibration, despite me believing I had recalibrated the sensor correctly after replacing the steering column, and I might add driving for a little bit locally with no three amigos. they returned, I've now had the column recalibrated again via a computer and everything has returned to normal, thank goodness.
