I had an error on the dash saying HDC INACTIVE come up over the last few weeks, only when turning the key for 1st start of the morning. then the rest of the days starting is was not there. I finally got to the bottom of it and fixed the problem. It was a positive battery terminal that needed a bit more tightening. Seems these beasts are real finicky about electrical connections.
Correct - low voltage will cause this - the HDC fault is the first you'll see when your battery starts to die, it's a good indicator of this, but in your case you found the culprit, so all good. The best thing I found for this when I started getting these faults was fitting one of Traxides dual battery controllers and a battery in the back as this system will actually increase the charge in the cranking battery after a few weeks. There's a good write up somewhere in a thread in the Vendors section.
