My alarm used to go off if the car was parked it the sun on a hot day. Turned out to be expansion of the bonnet would slightly lift off pressure on the bonnet switch and trigger the alarm. It was eventually solved by pop riveting a little pad onto the bonnet above the switch, to make sure it was pressed down well when the bonnet was closed. No problem since.

Hi Davros, interesting, I’ve now cleaned my switch up and done some exercise on the passenger seat and so far no alarm [emoji599], if the alarm doesn’t go off I won’t know what fixed it. I’m airing on the side of the bonnet switch, the pad sounds like a good idea though....
Be interesting to hear how Ute man went after disconnecting his bonnet switch......
