Hi Roverlord, issue with Fumoto duly noted, based on hearing this when I originally purchased the valve I now tie a cable tie around the top so the little lever can’t dislodge and turn. Not had a problem to date. Cheers Marty

Ron, there are several thread pitches in common use in 12mm. x 1.0, x 1.25, x1.5, x 1.75. I have also seen 12mm x 0.75. 1.5 mm is the standard pitch for all metric pipe fittings. Also 12mm x 1.5 is a common spark plug thread. You could have got a plug from any pipe fittings stockist. A tip. When cleaning out sump plug threads and you have the sump off, feed the tap from the inside into the undamaged threads which act as a pilot. ISO M12 is 1.75 pitch.

We finally got around to fitting the helicoil today. See Good day, bad day.

Oh, still no broken bits of timing chain guides in the sump.
