    Leak test of results

I did a leak test in the injector return lines results were,
    30 sec test

    Cyl 1 50
    cyl 2 55
    Cyl 3 70
    Cyl 4 70
    Cyl 5 65
    Cyl 6 50

So cyl 3 & 4 are 40% more I assume this is not ideal????

I have 2 spare cleaned injectors on hand so might replace then if needed.

Chris, I put 2 new Reco ones from UK s in the rest I had cleaned here in Melb. ( new injectors are take out a 2nd mortage)
3 & 4 are existing ones that were cleaned and tested.
The injector nozzle shaft had a bit of crusty stuff on them when I pulled them out so maybe dirty fuel?????
Had to stop for the day, the Endone is wearing off. I am supposed to be taking it easy. but not in a hurry, I am doing it in 1/2 hour shifts as I feel up to it then resting.
Going to replace all vacuum hoses whilst I have the intake off and can access them just for peace of mind knowing their done.

Bit surprised to find my previously cleaned injectors had this crud on them as in pic. I might have to look at where i get my diesel from. Safeway is supposed to be Caltex Vortex according to the pump. Might have to try BP now

Just take it steady, Mate. Even now, three months after my episode, I still find myself doing a bit more than I should sometimes.

Don, Yeah your right! I did it over 3 days with the help of Endone which really didn't help much , I am paying for it now though. Trouble is when your used to doing things yourself it's hard to break the habit.

Tell me about it! I do have a special assistant to tell me when I'm overdoing things, though. Shifting the camper trailer in the back yard this morning (by hand) had Julie nearly doing me more damage than the job did!

    Get the right equipment

I had a lot of experience with bad fuel and injector issues and even the main dealer in my state did a rather stupid leak off test. When I purchased my FAULTMATE MSV2 I found a "Cylinder Speed test" which actually measures the firing force in each cylinder which should be withing specified parameters.
Took notice of this and replaced injectors and from the moment I started the engine I knew it was sweet.
The fault also manifested itself in a shudder at torque converter lock up speed which the dealer could not identify.
Once the injectors wee corrected it was a sweet as.
I do not wish to tell anyone who to correct these issues but believe it cost me a lot before I go the right diagnostic gear.

The $200 or there about injectors sold by UK vendors are refurbished ones they are not brand new Bosch factory ones, the brand new never before used ones are over $1000 each
