    2010 Autobiography, tow tongue fitment?

    G'day all,

I have recently purchased a 2010 Autobiography and am dealing with some of the left-overs of the previous owner.

I am really confused about the rear tow hitch assembly and am hoping someone can shed some light.

The tow hitch assembly here in Australia is a Hayman Reese job I believe so it's quite recessed under the Rangie.

However to me it looks like the previous owner has done a grinder-job to access it (see photos), and even though I have now sourced the official Hayman Reese 21181 tow tongue it doesn't go in far enough to put the pin in.

Can any offer any photos of their towbar assembly or advice on what should have been done so I can correct this and get the towing sorted?

Part II of the towing would be to try and swap the 7-pin large round adapter for a 7-pin flat and tuck it up out the way - but that's for another day.

    Thanks!

Is that the right bar or is your rear air dam different to mine?.

My towbar drops in the middle:

Edit, looking at your second pic, it appears yours does, too.

    Here's mine genuine Westfalia 2003.
Note the genuine land rover draw bar was too low to attached anything higher than a skateboard, so I ended up getting a Hayman reece drawbar. The long length need is the prob so you need to source a correct length one.

Thanks Roverlord, as it turns out there was a plethora of issues that one of the previous owner had done which was causing mass confusion. A lot of help from the guys at fullfatrr.com including cameo's from P38Rover and rar110 who helped a lot

I doubt I would elevate it to the status workmanship, hideous definitely.

But all reasonably recoverable with a bit of TLC.

Its a nice motor. I gave both of us a fright when I accelerated from the round a bout. 2010 Autobiography, tow tongue fitment?
