    DAB+ Digital Radio L322 2010-2012MY

Done this morning, uses the factory antenna on the side window, reception is great, operates through the factory DAB menu on the touchscreen.

What cost? I almost never listen to the radio and not being near cities means no DAB anyway but if the cost is comparatively insignificant then the next owner might appreciate it.

$950 in parts, and if the vehicle has TV & RSE then the install is quite time consuming because the factory location of the module on a fully-loaded one (the only spot it fits) is buried in behind all the other modules in the left side of the boot. If there's no TV then the module can go in the spot where the TV module would go, where the SAT Radio module in the North American cars are mounted, I've had some brackets made so it just bolts in like a factory module would.

    Thanks Cameron.
Whilst I'm somewhat familiar with the packed left side of the boot after locating the e-diff module there rather than in the factory spot under the carpet below the left rear passenger seat, the cost for no expected benefit for me makes the retrofit unlikely.

That's true Greame, DAB+ is of no use outside the metro areas, but if you're in any of the capitals, it's pretty good.

Its the only feature that I can think of that is missing from mine so the idea will nag me for a while. Looking at the wiring diagram there's not much to fit it although I haven't happened upon the antenna amplifier's part number yet.

    DAB+ Digital Radio L322 2010-2012MY

There's no factory DAB+ module that's compatible with the audio system in the 2010-2012 L322, the factory modules are only DAB, not DAB+, so they don't work here.

The only option for DAB+ is the in2digi, they are 416 GBP +VAT, basically 500 quid retail in the UK.

And that's just a module and a power cable, the housing is different to the factory modules, and the antenna connection is different, but they work with the factory antenna amplifiers.

This is the installation kit I make to put one in the L322, with a mounting bracket that fits in the factory location, and the antenna adaptor & MOST splitter, you can see the antenna amplifier as well.

Part of the antenna cable was pre-wired in this particular car, but that might be because it had TV, but even with the pre-wiring that short extension is still needed.

I'm putting in a stock order to the UK for more modules tomorrow, this one was the last out of my stock.

Can see here how they are an odd size.

I had spotted that you had written DAB+ but didn't know that it is different to DAB.

    DAB+ Digital Radio L322 2010-2012MY

DAB and DAB+ are different, the UK is still using the old DAB standard, that was one of the first markets to introduce digital and now they are kind of stuck with it, but the rest of the world has moved onto, or went straight to, DAB+.

JLR introduced DAB+ in the 2013MY vehicles in Europe, didn't really introduce it here until around 2015-2016.

There are backwards compatible OEM DAB+ modules for the system in the Freelander2, Jag XF & XK, but nothing for the 2010-2011 L319, L320 or L322 , that's why in2digi came up with their unit.
