Obriens fitted a genuine screen to my D4 because no non-genuine had the genuine's IR protection which I insisted the replacement screen needed to have because that is what was insured.
Booked in at dealer for new genuine screen... we have to pay the difference in dealer quote and obriens which is $500 extra... but better to do that i think. Thanks everyone for the info!!!!😊😊😊

Yes they said they could fit the genuine one however after talking to the dealer service manager he was at pains to explain that he is very particular about the job and only uses an experienced contractor who he would trust with his own vehicle so that helped sway my decision.

Mine was replaced this week by the local Novus branch, on the recommendation of my son Justin who was very happy with his replacement Land Rover branded D4 screen. At the inspection they were very keen to get the correct screen which also bears the Land Rover emblem. My insurer is NRMA.

Just got a new one fitted by the dealer, RAA insurance covered the lot (about $2500).
Had the screen in the D3 replaced in remote town (O'Brien's as per insurer's directive).
What I forgot to check was that as they took out a genuine screen, that they re-fitted with same, but they fitted some cheap import version that they distribute.
Refitted twice, as rain sensor didn't work on first effort.
I didn't note the difference until months later when I was driving in some rain and realised that I almost couldn't carry on a conversation becausue of the rain noise coming through screen.
Had similar experience previously getting genuine Volvo screen replaced. Only because I was there when they unpacked the new screen and I noticed that the shade band across top was different, and they had to go get a genuine screen.
On comparing the first replacement option with the original Volvo screen I noticed that it was considerably thinner and very much lighter than the genuine screen.
Which is probably why when they fit the aftermarket LR screen there is a rise in cabin noise when it rains.
