I snapped up this car very quickly, and today it checked out as being in excellent condition, so it will be in the garage within the next week. It's a 1 owner car that has been well looked after. It will need new tyres soon and the gearbox service has not been done but I have allowed for that. I am new to RR ownership, and this forum (though an enthusiast of another marque) and have been looking for a good low km L322 for about 6 months for a reasonable price. Prices seem to vary quite wildly with dealers looking to charge a lot for often high mileage examples, but patience seems to pay off with better deals to be had from private sellers.

Congrats, that is a nice vehicle with low low km.

There are a few threads on here about maintaining these vehicles.

Hi Laurie and that is actually quite expensive for a "PETROL" V8 RR Supercharge.

The diesel V8 usually bring a better price.

The new white TdV8 Luxury advertised is actually a 3.6 not a 4.4 ! It has a gear lever [bighmmm]

This 2012 Luxury would be a great pickup for someone if it checks out ok [thumbsupbig], it's in VIC.

Deciding on a ffrr or rrs to replace my p38. Definitely looking at the lower end of the price points. There’s some l322s around 04/05 with the 4.4 and some of the tdv6 rrs on gumtree that sound interesting. Is the m62 timing guide problem or auto trans a hand grenade waiting to go off - or do you get a fair bit of pre-warning? Happy to do the work but don’t want a wrecked engine or tranny if I miss warning signs? Any views on this....

Personally if you want a petrol I would be looking for a vehicle with the 6 speed gearbox (6HP26 OR 28 in SC) MY05 + The early cars ZF 5HP boxes were ok, but did have some problems .The 6 speed ZF family is probably the most used auto in the world today Early model Super Charged cars can be found around the $20k+ they come standard with the electric active diff lock, which is a great piece of kit. No TdV6's in the L322 but available in the Sports as you mentioned. The L322 also had the bullet proof BMW Td6 engine; unfortunately it was seriously let down by the selection of the GM 5L40E gearbox.

The timing chain usually starts with a noticeable rattle especially on start-up. Sometimes pieces of plastic have been found at a oil change, an indication imminent failure of the guides. Gussy a member on here has just done this repair, so a read of his post would be a good starting point. Without knowing a rough purchase price and your intended use it's a bit hard to suggest things specifically.

You would not consider a 3.6 TdV8 ? Some great prices to be had if you shop carefully.
