Today's update, i found a melted wire in the spare tyre well. It was the wiring for the reverse camera I had installed a while ago. It gets signal feed from the reverse light. but needs + power also and an earth. The + wire and earth wires which are twin cables , melted together. The + should only have power when ignition is one, but it seems live as it sparked when I touched it. So i believe this could be my drain source?
Pos to earth. I have cut the offending wire and isolated them. This might explain why I got the error on the dash to check my reverse lights last week, but after checking they were functioning.
I haven't disconnected the NEG battery and run an amp meter on it yet for drain readings.

Actually the wiring shorted out where I had wrapped insulation take around them. The wiring followed the the factory loom in the rear of the vehicle which does not have extra protection,it was treaded along this loom using the factory retaining clips , So thinking if the factory loom was safe then you would have thought the cable would also be safe.
