    L322 Ignition / Steering problem

I have read of others with this fault my car is slightly different in that when I fit the key the steering lock unlocks then relocks twice before cutting out. Can someone please help with a wiring bypass or whatever it takes to get this fixed I love my car but do get a bit tired of faults.
Hope you liked the photos of the L322 with snorkel and winches front and rear it’s a bit different to what we can do in Australia.

Have you tried moving the gearstick when putting the key in? Could be gearbox ignition cut-out is out of adjustment.? Also fully charged battery? This is also essential for fault finding.

Well finally got to work on the ignition/ immobiliser problem, I made a quick call to Vince at Ritter regarding the issue after explaining where the car was and symptoms he kindly advised that it was most likely in steering column not ignition key. So armed with that I viewed a bit on YouTube as to disassembly and launched into it. I left steering wheel on and just removed the two dowel pins holding the upper section of the column to the lower part. Then just pulled the upper free of shaft, I then drilled three of the roll pins out and levered the cover off of the solenoid, this exposed the sticky solenoid, a quick clean and lube with some Mooreys on the pin. I then replaced the cover as it holds solenoid in place to function and clamped it together with cable tie to allow testing. Reconnected wiring and it started, I have left the cover held with cable tie so if it happens again I can get access to the solenoid without removing the steering column it is clearly visible once you remove the outer plastic covers.
Prior to this I did try circumventing the immobiliser, i found that if I removed the ignition switch solenoid pin I could turn switch to start position, i then jumped the large black and yellow wire with the large black wire at the immobiliser which is the white box at the side of the gear shift the car started so in an emergency providing you have tools you could get the car running.
i did not take photos as I was in a hurry, all relevant information can be found on YouTube.

    Regards Gippy
