Three years ago the Oodnadatta Track was great. Could have done it in a Falcodoor at 100kph. Last year it was rocky and corrugated - about 40 to 50 kph all the way. But if you’re going from Hermansberg (sp?) to Kings Canyon take a hovercraft. Lotsa corrugations, rocks and ruts.
Hi Mark, Traveled Oodndatta Track this time last year and it was an easy 90-100kph in the D2. Also traveled the road from HB to KC and agree it was bloody awful which was a suprise as previous time it was in good shape. Cheers, Charles.Quote:

A big part of me is keen to take the RR but the risk averse part says take the D2....

Take the rangie. Best towing and touring vehicle i have ever owned. So happy I bought another!!🤣
Just make sure you have premium road side assist in case you do have a bother Ie like RACV total care.
You haven't mentioned tyres. Are they up to the roads?
