    Front susp rear bushes LR018345

1 year / 20K ago at 83K kms the chopped-out front suspension rear bushes were replaced with Lemforder bushes which have again chopped-out. The original bushes had already cracked when I purchased the city-used vehicle at 19K kms.

The Lemforder bushes were about 3 times the price of unbranded ones but about 1/3 of the cost of genuine ones. What are people's experiences with these bushes?

Edit: I'm considering the Powerflex poly bushes but wouldn't mind some user feed-back on these in the L322.

The only 2 cars I have rebushed were my 2 and 4 door Classic's . I found them excellent except were extra torsional forces came into play ie the radial arm bushes, I remember seeing one set that were removed that had bent and wore down the metal. These were replaced with genuine bushes.

    Thanks Laurie.
I replaced the front radius arm to chassis bushes with poly bushes on my current RRC because the rubber ones didn't last any time but otherwise haven't fitted poly bushes. I ordered 2 Powerflex bushes yesterday so I'll report on what I think of them in due course.

First drive this morning with the poly bushes and I'm about to order a pair of normal bushes. I hadn't previously been aware that bitumen has so many little bumps and that the stones in coarse bitumen were so big as to transmit vibrations though the steering wheel.

Did they offer sports or road versions of the bushes and sent you the wrong ones ? I'm astonished they are that bad , so much for "thoroughly tested" ???

They're only available in the purple road versions.

The driver's side now has the no-so-badly worn bush re-installed in the opposite direction where it should be almost as good as new. The passenger side wasn't worth refitting, even temporarily. We're starting a 5.5K km trip tomorrow morning so no time to get a normal replacement for the other side.

I first posted when Poly bushes were commented on in the D4 forum that the extra stresses they place could potentially cause damage.
There are now cases appearing of cracked and failed arms appearing on Social Media LR sites and other LR forums.
I sent JC a pic only a week ago.

The forces the arms are subject to and the range of motion negates the use of poly.

    Cheers
