HDC inactive air suspension inactive warning

I bought an 2002 L322 Vogue last week and have had a few warning lights come on. I have driven about 1400kms already without an issue but two days ago when it was hammering down with rain these lights came on. The HDC and air suspension lights came on and stayed although the car was still drivable. A few more ks down the road and the low range light came on and requesting me to put the car in neutral. I pulled over turned off the car for a minute or two. After turning the car back on the lights were gone so I drove off. About a minute later the HDC and air suspension lights were back on. A couple of hundred metres up the road and the car started losing power it nearly felt like the accelerator was pushing back at me!! It was a bit like it was fighting between selecting a gear and neutral. I pulled over and turned it off again before trying to continue. I was only a few ks from home so persevered although I had to turn the car off twice more. Has anyone else had problems like this or does anyone have any ideas what is happening? This is my first Range Rover so have no idea what I am getting myself in for! Any help appreciated.

I went through one of those touch free car washes a while ago . It has jets that wash the underside of the car as you drive in. In doing v that the HDC and suspension light came on. Checked out the wiring to the height sensor on the right rear corner (as this was the side i had a blow out the week before ) and found the wiring insulation broken exposing the copper repaired wiring and all ok. So might pay to check all sensor wiring . Dont know if it will help with your trans problem. Do you have a diagnostic tool ?

Thanks for getting back to I'll have a look at the wiring and see if I find anything. I don't have a diagnostic tool unfortunately.

How long have you had the vehicle? How many KM on it? Petrol or diesel? Has the transmission been rebuilt before?

Sorry for all the questions but trying to get a feel for what’s going on - oh, and welcome to the forum. 👍

Re air suspension inactive, try turning the steering wheel lock to lock. I know it sounds odd, but that is necessary for some instances of this suspension issue.

I only have it a week. There is 216000 on the clock and it's the 4.4 petrol. Nothing was mentioned regarding the transmission when I bought it. I had it fully checked out with an experienced Land Rover garage before purchasing and they thought the car was all good. I have driven about 1500ks since I got it and it has driven perfectly. It was in the rain last week and going through some big puddles that the problems started. I have read on other forums that this may be caused by the height sensors and that the loss of power was actually the HDC kicking in. I have driven it again yesterday and although the warning lights are still on it has driven fine. One thing I have noticed is that nearly every time I turn the engine on is that the radio has not held it's memory as in it is always back on 87.5. Whether this has something to do with the battery voltage I don't know but it is something I must check as I hear these cars are very sensitive when it comes to battery voltage. Any ideas you might have would be great and thanks for your reply.

Hi mate, thanks for getting in touch. I have already tried the lock to lock reset but it made no difference unfortunately. I am in Belrose.

No worries thanks for the thought anyway. I was thinking about getting my hands on some sort of diagnostic tool, have you any recommendations on that?

For that model L322, the most cost effective is the GAP IID Tool, preferably the Bluetooth version. There's one for sale on this forum. Selling GAP iidTool Bluetooth Model

The buyer will need to pay GAP to re-licence it to the buyer's car's VIN

The Nanocom isn't available for pre-2010 L322 and that model's software for the Rovacom and Faultmate isn't cheap.
