		G'day Laurie,
Yes I flicked them an email on Friday and am waiting for a reply. I also sent an email to Cardone in the USA who also remanufacture these motors and encoders.
I'll keep you abreast of any replies that I get.
Not expecting any till tonight when the UK wakes up and Tues or Wed for the USA.
Cheers
Hans

Received a response from Cardone, we don't sell to the public. Response from Summit Racing, we don't stock that part.
Still waiting for 4x4lro to respond, been over a week now. How do these companies stay in business or business must be really good that you can just payoff potential customers.

Tell them you want to be a dealer for them but due to potential limited sales opportunities you only want to stock 1 of them... [emoji16]

Might be worth a try but I'd have to buy a complete unit and not just the encoder.
But thanks for the thought.

Well, we maybe making some headway, last night I was in touch with Andrew from 4x4lro (he was having email issues, hence the long wait for a reply). It seems that it is not just a straight swap of the encoder to update the transfer case shift motor.
The shaft that the encoder sits on needs to be machined and then a new encoder with a printed circuit board is applied to complete the project upgrade.
Andrew is having a look on the weekend to see if he can find a motor beyond repair and take out the gear shaft, machine it and forward to me with the new encoder.
If and when it arrives we may be able to duplicate the machining here and purchase the encoder from Andrew.
Just a thought. I'll keep you all in the loop as this unfolds.
Cheers

Received a reply from Andrew today and he did not find a unit with a motor that was beyond repair.
His best offer is £485 plus postage. Which today equates to $998 plus postage at today's exchange rate.
There is a guarantee with the unit which then is quite substantial costs just in postage back and forth.
I'll have to ponder this a little longer, any thoughts from the forum?
Cheers

Well business must be good in WA as I have received no response from my email from the company, just getting sick of lazy people and no responses from companies.
