    High kms L322

    Thoughts on a 210,000 kms 2011 L322 TDV8?

It's had continuous service history but at Land Rover recommended intervals unfortunately (20k - 30k between services). Same dealer and same (LR specialized) indie for services. So there's consistency.

Guessing its done considerable highway driving given the considerable annual distance.

The 40KKM between services would worry me personally. 210KKM I wouldn’t consider high for that year - my 2016 Hilux is not much shy of that now.

Actually there's a strong chance I'm just missing a page of the service history that breaks that early 40,000 kms into 2 x 20,000. Then the history looks regular. I'll confirm that tomorrow.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the impact on the motor. Like you say it’s probably done lots of hw km. Also people don’t generally buy these sorts of cars to abuse them.

Neglect is abuse... I have a 170k example here that has NEVER had the transmission, transfer case or diff oils changed... 🤬🤬🤬

AFAIK JLR still don’t have a service interval on the ZF transmission.

I had a specialist indie do a pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle today. Unfortunately there's about $10k of work to do on it. And while they didn't want to completely discount the vehicle, they didn't really recommend it due to the overdue maintenance.

Such a shame as this is an Autobiography with all the bells a whistles: Rear ediff, surround cameras, rear TV's, retracting side steps, adaptive headlights, dual view front screen - for $40k. There are a few body scrapes and it needs some serious TLC and a detail. N
ot well maintained (hard to see that in the photos).

A "bargain" Range Rover (there isn't such a thing right?)

    Issues:
    - likely never had a transmission flush - $850 (or possibly $2200 if needs a new pan and filter apparently??)
    - large leak from engine. Needs degrease and reinspection/diagnosis - $?
    - Overdue for timing belts - $2500
    - Needs new brakes and rotors (1mm left on front, 3 rear) plus a B service (way overdue) - $2200
    - transfer case is damp and may have leak starting - $?
    - rear of front control arm bushing badly worn - $1650
    - front wiper washers not fully spraying, rears don't work at all,
    needs new wiper blades
    - globe blown, brake fluid low, engine oil a little low, start button broken, seat belts retract slowly

I could probably go back and ask for more off, but of course always concerned that the engine dies and needs a new one. Then it's not such a bargain.

Still, it drives nicely. Definitely looking at the right vehicle to get! 4.4 TDV8 with 8sp gearbox on an air suspension body wrapped in opulent leather is the bomb...if you keep the maintenance up!

There are NO timing belts on a 4.4tdv8... also, the 8 spd pan filter and oil is Wayyy cheaper than 2500$ !!!!. The oil leak is likely to be the o rings at the pipe at the back of the cooler that supplies turbochargers, not hard to get to. The 10k could be whittled down a fair bit!!

Wish that was all I had to worry about.
No monetary costs in those fixes. At least your indie was thorough. But brake fluid low is because your pads are worn Yes.
Engine oil a little low , cause you're got an oil leak. Seat belts retract slow because they are dirty.

Somewhat agree with the theme of the responses so far in terms of some of the estimates from your indie.....IIRC I paid just about $1k for Transmission oil change and new pan/filter from a ZF Specialist (IMHO the best in Vic) when I acquired my 3.6 TDV8 in 2017. Different gearbox I know, but struggle to see the justification for that much of a cost difference.
