    Starting Issues

    Hi Im getting desparate for help with my Range rover. 2003
    I have owned it for 2 years . problem has been there most of the time
    After I drive the car like go to woolies. Go get back in it ...It wont start. Just winds over
    its a TV6 first I replaced the fuel pump as i cracked the line no fuel . have replaced the battery
    and I try charging it but my charger says its full. I have taken it to2 different Auto sparkys but no joy
    no error codes
    Leave the car for 1hour and it will fire up .

    any help or ideas would be greatful

    Could it be the starter motor or solenoid? Try checking if the connections are loose.

    Do you have a scan tool? Only guessing otherwise. Fuel, immobiliser? Sparky wont find it unless it is playing up in his shop.

    Had a similar problem late last year ... tried starter motor, checked fuel, injectors, glow plugs ... turned out to be loose crimp on the starter motor feed from the battery. Did load test on battery ... at battery 940cca, at jump points <600cca. Also noticed that where bolt went through firewall, evidence of heat and melting plastic. Replaced crimp connector on battery side, now enclosed by the protective cover.... all sweet

    They are different faults. OP says it turns over . Your fault would be a cranking issue yes?

    vehicle cranked and cranked ... it appears that the lack of current restricted crank speed and I understand that at less than 250rpm (or a similar rpm) the computer says 'no'. When I applied a second battery to the starter side of the connection, started immediately.
