Could it be the starter motor or solenoid? Try checking if the connections are loose.
Hi Im getting desparate for help with my Range rover. 2003
I have owned it for 2 years . problem has been there most of the time
After I drive the car like go to woolies. Go get back in it ...It wont start. Just winds over
its a TV6 first I replaced the fuel pump as i cracked the line no fuel . have replaced the battery
and I try charging it but my charger says its full. I have taken it to2 different Auto sparkys but no joy
no error codes
Leave the car for 1hour and it will fire up .
any help or ideas would be greatful
cheers graham

Do you have a scan tool? Only guessing otherwise. Fuel, immobiliser? Sparky wont find it unless it is playing up in his shop.
Had a similar problem late last year ... tried starter motor, checked fuel, injectors, glow plugs ... turned out to be loose crimp on the starter motor feed from the battery. Did load test on battery ... at battery 940cca, at jump points <600cca. Also noticed that where bolt went through firewall, evidence of heat and melting plastic. Replaced crimp connector on battery side, now enclosed by the protective cover.... all sweet

Which fuel pump did you replace?
There are three. One in tank, one in chassis rail and the high pressure pump under the bonnet.
The chassis rail low pressure pump (referred to as secondary pump) is common culprit.
Easy to make test gauge to verify if non engine driven pumps are making fuel pressure when key is switched on.
If not it will not start.
Your car is a TD6 and not TV6
If the car is making fuel pressure as per the workshop manual you might want to check the Low pressure, fuel pressure sensor.
I am assuming that you have a workshop manual.
Probably a silly ask but: Do you have a clean unrestricted fuel filter?

There was something in LRO workshop about this some time ago.
AFAIR the issue was wear in the fuel distribution pump, and the fix ,was to place a resistor in the temperature circuit to fool the ECU into thinking the engine temp was lower to give a richer mixture along with a switch to revert once started.
