Good to know. I luckily have a mate nearby that has a IID control for his puma and it works on the l322. Whilst not registered to my vin it can do a bit of stuff including resetting the service interval.
Just done an oil change and want to reset the Service Indicator (SIA - I don't know what the "A" stands for)? I found this on FullFatRR but it needed a couple of edits. It didn't works are originally written.
- Ignition key must be “off”
- Press and hold the trip odometer button in the instrument cluster (left button), and turn the ignition key to the first position (I).
- Keep the button pressed for approximately 5 seconds until one of the following words appear in the display: “OIL SERVICE, or “INSPECTION”, with “RESET”. (Mine says RESET followed by the km remaining)
- Release the odometer button and then press and hold it again until “RESET” begins to flash. Release the button
- While the display is flashing, press the Odometer button briefly to reset the service interval.
- After the display has shown the new interval (on mine, it's 25000), the following will appear: “END SIA”.
Having said all that, I wouldn't do 25,000km oil/filter changes, that's too long in my view even with full synthetic oil.

I haven't tried my Testbook (T4) nor Faultmate for this. I wonder I if I can change the interval from 25K to 10K?
I looked at the IID instructions and it won't do reset of the SIA on the BMW models - that's why I used the method above.
3.6.5 Instrument Pack ECU
Service Interval Reset (Except L322-02 and L538*)
This resets the service reminder displayed on the instrument cluster.

I havent had the service indicator come up on my beast for quite awhile as I service it around the 8 thou mark.
If you look on the fullfat site, I,m sure it has a bit in the #wiki# that has a how to turn off the service bit on our models Ron.
cheers

When you first turn on the ignition, what number do you see in the left hand display. i.e., before the odometer reading is displayed? That's the distance to go before an oil change is required.
I must admit, the light behind the Oil Service/Inspection window is very dim on mine - i'm not sure that it's ever come on properly. When I had the instrument binnacle out to fix the missing pixel problem Dead pixel fix, I did check the bulb and it was OK.
Disco Gazza did mention it at the time: Dead pixel fix
