    Cooling system time

Thinking it's about time I did the cooling system, I have a water pump & bottom hose ready to go, planning to replace the radiator. Any thoughts on these aluminium ones?

..car has done 387k, I've had it since 315- no idea what was done previously. System loses water, just a little bit enough to be a concern. Needs a 250ml top up after a full day's drive.

Aren’t Behr and Hella different brands? Seems cheap for an OE one. My guess is that it’s a knockoff.

Yes it does seem cheap, hence my question. Wondering if anybody has had experience with similar. My vehicle is used off-road occasionally, I wouldn't want the new rad to shake itself apart.

do you know where its leaking from? I had my radiator pulled at 345k and they said it was like new inside and keep doing what your doing - only because after having classics and p38's I was scared that the radiator hadn't exploded yet after nearly 200k of ownership.

one of my plastic EGR fittings had split, only opened up when the engine was hot.

Thanks JSP, no I don't know where the leak is, I guess I should have it checked. I can't see anything.
I did have an issue where the thermostat housing on the front at the top* cracked, and I lost coolant. Not happy with the work done to replace it, the low coolant alarm is now permanently on and the workshop who did the work couldn't care less. Wouldn't be surprised if more plastics had failed. Whereabouts is the part that failed on yours?

*I understand there are several thermostats on the 3.0 diesel. Grrr bloody BMW and their use of plastics on motors...
