RE: Getting upgrade unit for 2006-2010 L322 audio system.

Has anybody come across an upgrade unit that is compatible with steering wheel and the other features of the factory system , BUT also has USB option to insert a player for audio books etc?
I'd even leave the current sytem in there if i could get a USB to go into it so I could play audio books.
Can get bluetooth systems, but the USB option also acts as a charger for the item playing the audio book.
Seems there are players around that might fit, but then getting a harness that will allow it to connect and integrate seems to be what stops them.

RE: harness to integrate aftermarket audio head unit for L322

Have found an audio installer who says no problem putting in an aftermarket wide(er)screen unit into an L322, and can retain the steering wheel controls and origional amps in boot area.
BUT, the ready made harness to integrate whatever unit I add, will be about $750 (just for the harness). Ouch!
Last time I had a D3 upgraded it was only $150 for the harness.
Going ahead with the changeover anyway, as it includes hands free phone and still deliver sat nav (using phone), and reverse camera, and a couple of USB/charger sockets.
If I want "Garmin" type sat nav in the unit, that almost doubles the price of the head unit, but doesn't add much else.

I just finished off another one of these in a 2003 Vogue.

Had a bit more time to play around in the i-Bus App with the happy new owner, and we discovered a few little gems that I hadn't seen before.

    - enable digital speedometer in the instrument cluster
    - enable radio station info in the instrument cluster
    - enable volume adjustment display in the instrument cluster
    - enable one-touch indicators, 3, 4, 5 or 6 blinks
    - enable mirror dip in reverse

There's a heap of other stuff too, but those were the more interesting ones, little details that make the car just that bit more modern.

Ah didn't know you didn't know about that!

Speedo I haven't seen, but "comfort flash" is so awesome. I haven't used mirror dip in reverse as I believe in the CCF it's already coded (mine doesn't do it, but the rear passenger window goes down instead lol)...

With the extra add on you can also fully control the dsp too... Nothing extra needed!

Is there a place to get the USB adapter anywhere, I've been keeping an eye on the store but out of stock for ages.

Are you referring to the 2003-2004(5) models or later? If the 2003-2004(5), I'd like to add a couple of those to my dash display. Do the 2003-2004(5) models have a CCF?

I thought mirror dip in reverse was standard. Mine does that (switched on and off with the switch on the driver's door panel).

What is comfort flash? Blinkers flashing when one locks/unlock the car?

    Yeah mines a 2003.

CCF via IIDTool is what I've seen.

Ah....maybe I need to switch the switch on the door, but in reverse my passenger rear window drops 5cm, not the mirror... A funny issue to have, but not when it's raining and you don't close the window...

Comfort flash is where you flick the indicator and rather than one quick flash it automatically does 3 flashes...

    Clearly has some supply issues!

Does this do the same thing?

I’ve got one but I’ve seen very simple electronic circuits to access the I-bus. One day I might make one up.
