    TDV8 3.6L - Penrite HPR Diesel 5 Engine Oil 5W-40

Anyone else using this oil in their rig? It seems to be doing the job, not expensive and comes on sale from time to time at SCA.
I've used it the last two oil changes and curious what others are using and viscosity. We're arrive 270k's and in Queensland, so doesn't get that cold.

    Cheers,
    M

I think the Indi that used to service it was using another Penrite available to workshops. Think it was a 5w30. But it's not available to retail customers.

Despite SCA recommending the oil in the thread title, the Penrite oil selector app recommends their "Full Synthetic 5W30" sold as Vantage Full Synthetic 5W-30 in Repco retail stores ..."compatible with Ford specifications WSS M2C912-A, WSS M2C913-A/B/C/D"

I also use these or something similar from cost effective maintenance. Our tdv8 3.6 has had an oil change every 10,000km, and now has over 290,000km. The motor is very smooth and quiet.

Thanks Pete. Nulon also have a "diesel engines" range in the same viscosity. I have never used any of their oils before.

I know the topic of oils has come up in the past, but products change over time. Castrol magnatec professional was often discussed, but difficult to get.

A Penrite C4 in 5w30 Enviro+ is what we use in these, and what i put in mine. A bit over spec as we don't have a DPF however that isn't an issue, and price is ok.
