Has a fault code scan of the transmission been done?
I so what are the fault codes?
Hey guys, I've had my transmission re coned 2005 L322 3.0 (5L40E) by a transmission specialist of 30 years, got it all to oem spec he said..
Box has been in and out at least 3 times now with the same fault, trans fail, its been a month now, I'm getting very frustrated, its my only work car, i allowed 2 weeks off,
what other problems are there? or to look for? Mind you, He doesn't like been told anything or asked questions.
regards Mark

Gday Mate, I'm not sure how to answer on the post, can't find the option..can pm tho..Long story short, The transmission fella uses another auto shop to remove his jobs, in this case anyway.. he suggested the guy, They took the trans out with out getting codes, Then he opened it up, it was very clean he said, then asked me what the codes it was throwing...That was his job, he then said it needed new solenoids. Went from $1800 to 2250.. Then another $1500 or I wasn't getting my car back.. job was supposed to be at most 2 weeks..1 month later, I get it back, worked great for the rest of the day, Next morning trans oil a over the floor.. 7 Bolts on pan stripped..Gasket probably stuffed.. Then the next night transfail again..Not to mention the cost of the Auto bloke that took trans out..another $1000 bucks..
So I'm a bit frustrated at the moment..
Payed a that money, and then same as before..lil better..but still through 1 transfail.. since I got it back on Saturday.

Wow pulling a transmission without seeing the codes is a huge call.
If your problem was/is the solenoids the box doesn't need to be removed to replace them.
If you are still having the issue find a independent (preferably Land Rover) mechanic in your area to run a scan and see what the fault codes are before you go any further.
What is the transmission like to drive? Is it slipping, hard changing or shuddering?
