    Charger for MY10 TDV8

Hi, with the lack of driving and cold here in VIC I'm starting to get a low battery.

I still have a JLR labelled Battery, not sure if its the original, but I haven't replaced it in 4 years. I am looking to get a charger to compensate for the lack of driving and would like to check if this is the right type if anyone knows:

    MXS 10 AUS CTEK Consumer

    Thanks in advance

Should be fine. Just set it to the type of battery (AGM, starting wet cell etc).
Redarc and Projecta have similar chargers, as do a range of other brands.
I have 3 Projectas and all are good.

Basically, just want a charger which tests the battery, charges to about 80%, then slows down for the final 20%, goes to sleep and periodically wakes up, tests the battery, charges if required and then goes back to sleep.

A solar charger is another option. It charges during the day and rests the battery at night.

Check your manual to see if the negative should be attached to the battery or to a specified negative terminal in the engine bay.

For a couple of years I’ve used the MXS 5.0 for my 2008 L322, and all other vehicles.

I also have one of these attached to every vehicle battery. The indicator is in plain view when I walk past the vehicle so I can keep an eye on it. For example on the L322 it sits at the bottom of the windscreen.

Charger has arrived - can I check is it the AGM battery that a 2010 L322 would have? (I have to set the charger)

The 2010 4.4l diesel is supposed to have an AGM. Unfortunately if the previous owner didn't want to spend the money it may not have an AGM (yes I have experience with this ). You should be able to see enough of the top of the battery to tell what it is.

    Cheers,
