Someone who will actually do timing guides on M62??

So I bought the timing chain tensioner (febi) and though I would wait till I changed the oil.
Followed the vid but still had the timing chain rattle for a split second.
I thought immediately that the engine ran quieter, it was quiet before but now its smoother as well.
I thought I was imagining it but before I said anything, my son said what I was thinking.
It feels smoother when driving and I have a feeling it’s a bit better on petrol (hopefully)
My son said it’s a world of difference.
However its made no difference to the camshaft timing problem which is what I was trying to fix

Pretty sure it's the wiring to the brake pad wear sensor.

Hint: when you get a new tensioner, DON’T press the end in. It will release the clip that locks it in the compressed position. It’s easier to fit that way.
the tentioner is easy to reset, just push the piston all the way in, with a pointed, thin knife, push it down the side of the piston and let the piston go and it will lock

With your cam timing problem have you had a look at your cam adaption values?
