I have the 04 Vogue model, so this unit is still under the drivers side foot well area and does it look like a relay unit?

If you have a control for rear fan speed, then you have 2 of these FSR modules. one for front, and one for rear. The front one (that controls the front fan) is tucked up above your left foot and towards the center. It is actually in the intake for the front blower motor.
the front FSR looks like this:
Attachment 168967
I am assuming we are still talking about the rear fan thats running and won't turn off??
the rear fan get power from a fuse and relay in the rear fuse box (RHS of boot space)
Attachment 168973
remove fuse 12 and the fan should stop. The part labeled "control unit - blower motor - rear" is the FSR. it needs to be unplugged.
Thanks Harlie,
I have just come in from the back paddock and I'll have a look tomorrow and see what I can find. I take it that the front FSR would be the broken one that needs replacing?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
is it the front fan that's running or rear?
Rear fan is running flat out, nothing in the front is working save rear parking sensor button, boot open and not sure about track control.
you need to get the rear FSR. I've not pulled the rear apart, the FSR should be near the fan. Start with removing the fuse from the back
G'day Harlie,
Rear fuse 82 and relay removed fan not working now.
I am attaching a couple of photos that I have taken after removing the panel by the left knee and above the brake and go pedal. Can you indicate the FSR please.
Cheers
Mate - you need to go after the REAR FSR.
The FSR above your left foot only controls the front fan. the rear fan has its own FSR.
Looking at RAVE for the 2004, it states:
"Volume Control: The volume potentiometer outputs between 0 and 5 V to the ATC ECU. The ATC ECU translates the
voltage from the potentiometer into a signal voltage for the output stage in the rear blower."
The "output Stage" is the FSR and this sounds like it may be incorporated into the blower. However, the wiring diagram shows a seperate blower and FSR (control module) - Later cars like mine definately have a seperate FSR like the front.
Now that you have removed power from the rear blower - does the AC panel turn on? If you scan for error codes - does it even see the HVAC controller?
Interesting, I can't find info about removing the rear blower in RAVE. But this is where you need to start - getting to the rear blower which is in the center console.

Thanks Harlie,
Now that the rear blower is turned off the front still does not work (but the heater works well, without fan). Now that I can sort of see where the rear fan is I'll hunt it down in the morning and check the codes with the Gap tool. I'll also look for the HVAC codes.
