And the Rig Road should be even less crowded

    So far need to do:

    • Snorkel
    • Seal up air HVAC air vent on bonnet + at firewall
    • Water bra

    To take:

    • Spare belt and tensioner
    • Spare radiator hoses
    • 2 x wheel bearings
    • Satphone/communicator

I also forgot to mention I've converted it to thermofans w/ fans from an old Jag + $5 PWM controller which is run to the cab. I have not yet got to the point of controlling the PWM/speed by temp sensor + have the thermofan's removed for this reason, i can't be bothered manually managing the PWM controller. She's all installed and tested though, works well. Also, probably need to make up a better shroud. Doing it again i would probably just buy bigger fans and make up a shroud from the get go instead of mucking around with the Jag ones, although they did come with the PWM fan control module which was a plus.

Whats the go with diff breathers? I know that they are extended, but I'm not sure where they exit.

I believe the wheel bearings in these things are bit of a pain to swap...they are big and I believe require proper tools to pull and fit??

I believe you've done most of the cooling system already, so long as thermostat and water pump / trans cooler / radiator / expansion tank are done - have you done the head coolant cross over pipe behind the engine? It's a short hose with a plastic adapter. I'd also invest some time into making sure you've got pipes to bypass the heater controller on the strut tower. If one of those pipes go bad or the whole unit leaks, just bypass the lot. Hopefully you don't need a heater!

Diff breather for the front one goes over the passenger side coil covers on the engine into the V... Just.

The rear one I believe goes up to the fuel filler??

If your alternator is really old, that might be worth doing as preventative. Although, you could easily get it shipped to where you are if you are at a town and only need normal tools to swap it.

Lots of water on the Cape. Gets gets into your EAS compressor temperature sensors - can cause suspension failure. Did with us (D4s, but your setup wouldn't be too dissimilar).

Fit an emergency air up kit and test whether that spare Kings dual compressor your planning on taking has the grunt to lift the vehicle should you be caught out.

Hey, the air compressor is in the spare wheel well inside the car on the L322. They are a 'sealed unit'. I took some time to seal the whole boot area with sikaflex as i was getting some ingress due to a dodgy boot seal. Valid points around the suspension. I've seen a p38 with a custom valve block so each individual wheel can be inflated/deflated in the event of an issue with the suspension. Seems like quite the job to do for the L322 but it had crossed my mind.

Kings compressor is good for 125psi i think, which is a little off the 180ish(?) i think the L322 runs. I have a rebuild kit in the spares box for the compressor if for some reason the piston ring fails. I have heard of people plumbing in a second compressor to the main system and running in parallel to reduce the duty on the OEM one, food for thought, i did want to mount everything w/ a tank in the wheel well but need to figure out mounting etc. The kings compressor apparently draws 90AMP initially which is pretty high, if I was going to actually install I'd probably look for something smaller as the air tank would act as storage and a high LPM wouldnt really be AS required.

    Thanks for your input!

If you have a rebuild kit... You are probably better off doing while it's still good, otherwise it could wear enough the new kit doesn't work.

There is also a guide somewhere where someone did hackery to trigger raising the suspension on the L322 manually by bridging connections on the EAS ecu... I don't remember where I saw it but it looked like a great solution looking for a problem!

Hey, thanks for that! Do you run a second battery at all to support the winch? Also, what was the cost of the winch plate?

    Thanks
