Absolutely or maybe it’s the Brownlow Medal winning Sydney Swans AFL footy legend? Still excellent camp fire stories.

Re: road conditions west of Uluru

They have had a heap of rain between Laverton and Uluru in past week.
The "Great Central road" is usually passable as long as there has been at least 7-10 days since it rained.
Came over a rise heading East out from Laverton in January and it was like the attached pics for the next 800 k's. (And they reckoned they hadn't actually had that much rain.)

I saw a mixed group of about 12 land Rovers (may have beeen a LR club group), heading East towards Laverton last month, so possibly they have recently been on the Laverton /Uluru Central road, but it has had a swag of water in past weeks.
It is a great trip as long as it isn't raining or having Spinifex fires.

It is a great trip, but almost zero assistance options.
The WA side of the road surface is generally quite reasonable, but soon as you get to the NT side it does not appear to be as regularly maintained.
Same for coming in the other way through QLD to Alice Springs.
You can tell as soon as you leave QLD that you are in NT, and on the "Plenty Hwy".
"Plenty" of corrugations, bulldust holes and gnarly rocks, and worse on NT side than the QLD side.

So do these reported road conditions only apply to a RRS or even a RR given this very general question is posted in the L322 section but relates to a completely different vehicle (RRS) but a question relates to any vehicle

Roof Rack for 2012 Range Rover Sport

Would appreciate any advice on a suitable roof rack. LR roof bars already installed but need to carry Oz Tent and spare if possible.
Anyone willing to sell a suitable 18" spare?
    thanx

    PS I haven't got a Brownlow either.
