I've used a Chinese air bag from ebay. I had to modify it a little but it's working fine so far.

I did buy a complete strut unit as well for $250 but I haven't had to fit it yet so it is still sitting in the box. I would say the quality looks fine but I'm not going to know what it is like on the road until I put it in and try it.

So cheap though, probably worth the risk.

I use Arnotts ex USA (FCPEuro) you could replace just the airbag which will replace the rattly bearing. i think they come in under 300usd for the airbag. You can also buy locally for $$$ (Airbagworld)

The shocks will last for yonks and its an easy replacement.

Ive already been down the chinese parts run, never again. Last thing you want is a failed bag seal, really not worth it in my opinion.

    Update

Just an update on the Chinese struts.

I ended up fitting the front strut a couple of month ago as the air spring developed a leak on the bottom O rings.

So I noticed that you loose about 2" of suspension travel when the strut is fully extended compared to the Land Rover unit. But other than that it is working fine and I can't tell the difference between the LR strut on the drivers side and the Chinese on the passenger side.

Today I changed my ball joints and both arms in the front with some MaxspeedingRods replacements from Ebay. Front Upper & Lower Suspension Control Arm Kit For Range Rover L322 LR018343 | eBay as well as some Leformer steering rack ends and drag links a couple of weeks ago. (with a wheel alignment when I did the rack ends)

My issue was wayward steering, a violent shake in the steering if I hit a bump at 100kmph and they couldn't get the steering wheel to stay straight even after the wheel alignment. I thought my steering rack was toast cause I couldn't find any slack in any of the joints. I did find the issue when I removed the suspension arms. The front passenger lower arm ball joint went "POP" when I undid bush bolt. So when I jiggled it when testing it seamed fine. Wasn't till the weight came off that it showed a problem.

She is tight as a drum now. I really don't see the problem with the Chinese stuff i've bought so far. I did pop the boots off the main ball joints and put a bit more grease in them as a precaution. But overall I'm happy with the cheap parts.
