    2003 TD6 Central Locking Issue

    Hi all,
Drivers door stopped unlocking with remote recently. After a few days it also stopped locking with remote. Still unlocks & locks manually with the key.

All other doors are working normally. I have run through a range of diagnostics, and tried all the "I hope this works" stuff like changing remote batteries, re-syncing remotes, disconnecting battery to re-set ECM, checking central locking fuses etc.

I pulled the door latch mechanism out today and all seems in order from mechanical standpoint. Cleaned re-greased and put door back together again. Still no luck with the central locking. I don't hear anything from door latch mechanism when the central locking is actuated.

Have I missed anything? or is it time to try and source a replacement door latch assembly?

    Thanks,

    Charles

it can be a little of a pain to get out, but have a look at the door wiring loom multi pin connector, its probably got corrosion in it. Hopefully its as simple as that.

Physically in between car body and door under the rubber boot. Its a big multi pin plug.

    Hi JSP,

Thanks - I pulled all apart again yesterday and no corrosion in the connector but great to cross that off the list. The latch is now locking with remote and I can hear it trying to actuate when unlock button pressed but nothing happens. Given how fiddly it is putting everything back together, I will order a replacement latch assembly as I believe the problem is in the electronic part of latch mechanism.
