    RR Vogue TDV8 4.4L

I need some help, looking at a L332 TDV8 4.4L Vogue 2010 model, car sales lists the payload at 390kg, surely this is a mistake, if that is correct the car couldn’t legally take 5 adult passengers weighing 80kg each!

Yep, it's 390kg according to Redbook (under 'full specs/dimensions' in the link). A few people on the forum over the years have got a shock at the low payload, including me! Use the search function at the bottom of the page that searches AULRO only for more threads.

The owners handbook states the 4.4's tare from 2710 including full fuel tank with GVW 3200, leaving a max load of 490kg. My rego paper has tare 2575 presumably with no fuel.

According to Redbook, up to 2009 it's 490kg, and from 2010 models onwards it's only 390kg.
I don't know what the official Land Rover specs are though.

The MY11 brochure states mass in running order (90% fuel and 75kg driver) as 2810 and GVM 3200.

That matches Redbook's 2810kg kerb weight and 3200kg GVM figures, which leaves 390kg for payload (passengers, cargo etc) - over and above the fuel load and driver of course.
Pre-2010 models had 100kg less kerb weight (2710kg) according to Redbook, giving a 490kg payload, using Land Rovers standard calcs which incorporate fuel and driver.
No wonder people have to sit and do their homework when trying to figure out weight calc's across different manufacturers!
So you CAN carry 4 passengers at 80kg each (320kg) and still have some wiggle room - but not much wiggle room though!

Maybe consider a Mercedes Benz 1418, they don't seem to have weight issues.

So im looking at a new tow tug and if the above figures are correct then i guess i will need to leave the Mrs behind as once i hook up the caravan and put in the beer then theres no more room ..

Shame as i was keen on the 4.4 as a tow vehicle
